With the economics in dairy farming today we need to get the most out of everything we feed

High protein materials show many benefits if we raise the level of UDP. It makes good sense to utilise cereals in our diets as they are readily available and are an excellent supply of starch. Their one drawback is that they are very fermentable in the rumen.

BioProtect is a non volatile, organic salt which, in the mildly acidic conditions of the rumen, reacts readily with the amino groups of the proteins and hydroxyl groups of starches to form a stable feed - BioProtect complexes. However the bonds are highly pH dependent and in the more acidic conditions in the small intestine they readily dissociate, releasing the nutrients for more efficient digestion and absorption.

The recent studies have confirmed that both the rate and extent of ruminal digestion was reduced in BioProtect treated feeds.

The conditioning of raw material for inclusion into ruminant diets has been researched, developed and practiced for many years
